Summary:
Protection Term: 10 years from filing date.
Time from filing to registration: 12 months.
Renewal duration: 10 years.
Classification of Goods/ Services: International Classification.
Filing Requirements:
1-Power of attorney, simply signed.
2-Prints of the mark for each application.
3-The list of the goods and/or services and the classes.
4-Name, Nationality and Address of Applicant. Please note that if the nationality of applicant is P.R. China or Hong Kong, the certificate of the corporation (legal person)/personal identification documents (natural person) will be necessary.
5-A certified priority document if it is claimed
Search Requirements:
1-Photocopy of the trademark.
2-The list of the goods and/ or services to be covered by the trademark.
Renewal Requirements:
1-A Power of Attorney to be executed by the applicant/ an authorized person on behalf of the company
2-A copy of trademark registration certificate
Assignment Requirements:
1-A Power of Attorney to be executed by Assignee (or Assignor if necessary)
2-Assignment contract to be signed by both parties
3-Original Trademark Registration Certificate
Change of Name/Address Requirements:
1-Simply signed power of attorney
2-Official document certifying change of name/address.
3-Original certificate of registration for endorsement.
License Requirements:
1-A Power of Attorney to be executed by the applicant/ an authorized person on behalf of the company
2-Licensing Agreement to be executed by both licensor and licensee

Patents are valid 20 years as from the application date. Time necessary to obtain registration is 18-21 months.
Filling Requirements for a National Application:
1-A Power of Attorney executed by the applicant
2-An Oath signed by the inventor(s)
3-An Assignment signed by the inventor(s) if different from the applicant
4-Specifications, claims and formal drawings
5-The first filing date and numbers in another country if applicable
6-A certified copy of the priority document if priority is to be claimed
7-If priority is to be claimed in Taiwan, the application must be filed within one year after the first filing date
